Many of the Volvo keyless entry remotes can be programmed by you. Some of them can not. And some Volvo owners may not even want to mess with it at all. Either way, I went to the Volvo dealership with my newly acquired Volvo remote and they charged me $57.50 to reprogram it. This obviously means that they are essentially charging YOU nearly $200.00 just for the Volvo remote itself!

By the way, do not ever lose your Volvo car key. It is more painful than losing your Volvo remote! I am currently working on a solution for this problem too:)
